Sistas',
Then Jesus said to them all: "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. Luke 9:23
Losing weight means we have to often deny ourselves the pleasure we have found in overeating in the past. It seems awful to think that we first have to deny ourselves and then take up our cross (which is a picture of suffering). However, when we think about changing our eating to a healthier way, we soon realise that we have to deny ourselves the *luxury* of overeating, and many times this can feel like suffering. But it has a greater good. Our bodies are not our own. We have been bought with a price and we belong to (servants of) God.
I have put myself on a diet, and it has been a long week, I have stuck to it, and I know that my Father will walk me through it. This is the confidence that I have in Him.
